Position: Accountant

Overview


We are an Automotive Parts Dealer seeking to consolidate its position in the Kenyan market and establish competitive advantage in its line of business. In addition to parts, the firm has distributorship of Loctite and Teroson motor vehicle adhesives and sealants.

The firm has presence in Nairobi and Mombasa and seeks to exploit the full potential of these markets through acquiring new customers and servicing existing ones.

In this regard, the firm is looking to grow its team of suitably qualified and experienced people to deliver on key performance objectives in order to drive the firm towards achieving its short term and long term goals.

The incumbent will be responsible for undertaking accounting procedures in line with the firm’s policies.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Inventory control
  • Petty cash management
  • Cashier
  • Daily posting of accounts receivables and payables transactions
  • Collecting accounts receivables promptly
  • Preparing cheque payment vouchers
  • Preparing and processing monthly/ annual payments including insurances, licenses, service bills, rents and rates
  • Record keeping of all transactions
  • Preparing periodic reports: weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual accounts
  • Overseeing the procurement process for office requisitions
  • Processing monthly and annual statutory payments, i.e. PAYE,NSSF,NHIF, VAT returns and filing them with KRA, NSSF and NHIF

Qualification Requirements and Work Experience
  • Minimum CPA Part 2
  • Diploma in Business Administration will be an added advantage
  • Working knowledge of Quickbooks & MS Office
  • Experience in the automotive industry will be an added advantage
