Marketing and Student Recruitment Officer:

Reporting to the Ag.Deputy Vice Chancellor, Planning and Development the ideal candidate will have experience in marketing University programs, creating quality advertising and publicity materials for a range of those programs.  

He/she will work closely with other departments to help maximize local and international student recruitment. 

The person will also develop external networks and contacts as appropriate for this purpose; collect and analyze market intelligence and produce regular reports on the internal and international markets. 

The officer must have sound marketing experience, preferably in a similar role, and the ability to work as part of a team and take own initiative.

Specifically the officer will:
  1. Develop and implement a marketing strategy which will drive the recruitment process to achieve growth in the student population;
  2. Plan and implement student recruitment activities for all NIST/ILU programs on campus and beyond;
  3. Develop recruitment materials, including brochures and displays;
  4. Follow-up on potential students related enquiries;
  5. Liaison with Corporates, NGOS, Churches and Christian organization to inform and recruit potential students;
  6. Prepare and manage the recruitment budget;
  7. Administer recruitment via website, internet communication and other relevant media;
  8. Oversee a team of part- time recruitment staff, including training, developing and mentoring them;
  9. Performing such other relevant duties as may be assigned by the Academic Dean, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs and the Management from time to time.
Qualifications and experience
  1. A born again Christian.
  2. A first degree in marketing or a related field.
  3. A post graduate qualification in a similar field will be an added advantage.
  4. A minimum of five years relevant experience, preferably gained in a university setting or equivalent role.
  5. Age 30 years and above.
The successful candidate for the position must demonstrate the following clear Skills and Competencies

Strong past results and skills in: marketing, recruitment and management, ICT, interpersonal relations, analysis, negotiation, project planning and Development, report writing, research, mobilization and networking.
