Field Medical Advisor for Primary Health Care
Based in Dagahaley Refugee Camp

The selected candidate will be reporting to the MTL and in close collaboration with Field Coordinator. 

He/she will be responsible to the project cycle of the project and outreach of the field medical quality in Dagahaley Refugee Health posts.
 
Main Tasks include, but not limited to:
  • Directly supervise the PHC clinical officers, RH focal person, Outreach Nutrition coordinator, MH supervisor, CHW supervisor and is also their technical referent in the field. 
  • Set objectives for the various HP departments, monitor and evaluate the program. 
  • Close follow up with the CHW activities and TBAs.
  • Schedule meetings with the different outreach departments to ensure proper communication and guidance/direction to the departments.
  • Together with the field coordinator and social worker collaborate with the community representatives in health related issues.
  • Ensure sitrep reports are written by the respective supervisors and compile before sending to field coordinator
Requirements:
  • Medical doctor with diploma/degree recognised by the state.
  • Registered and licensed to practise by the Kenya Medical and Dentists Board.
  • At least 2 years clinical and surgical experience a busy hospital. Previous MSF experience is an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, strong initiative, able to handle complex assignments with proactive attitude
  • Organized, autonomous and attentive to details
  • Punctual, reliable and flexible to work long hours when required
  • Familiarity or experience working with health information systems and computer literacy with practical use of MS-Office applications an advantage
  • Due to the nature of the work, an ability to speak Somali will be a strong advantage
