We are a State Corporation in conservation and tea production based in Nairobi with an extensive network of operations countrywide. 

We urgently seek to fill the Position of a Managing Director with a dynamic, self driven and result oriented
individual.

Job Purpose: Reporting to the Board of Directors, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day running of the Corporation under direction of the Board to achieve its vision “to be a leader in conservation of forests and protection of environment” and to achieve its overall strategic plan.

The successful candidate shall be required to formulate clear strategies and set targets to achieve the Corporation’s mandate. 

The successful candidate will provide leadership and guidance to ensure that staff are motivated and focused in achieving targets agreed with the Board.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop the long term strategies, business plans, annual work plans and budgets to the Board.
  • Ensure that there is effective communication between the Government, the Board, the management and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure constant cost effective and efficient improvements in the quality and value of services and products provided by the Corporation.
  • Ensure that the Corporation’s resources are effectively and efficiently managed.
  • Maintain a conducive work environment to attract, retain and motivate employees, and foster a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices and good corporate image.
Knowledge and skills required:
  • First degree in Agriculture, Forestry, Finance, Economics, Law or equivalent qualifications from recognized institutions.
  • Masters degree in business management or its equivalent shall be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience, 5 of which must be in senior management in an organization of similar size and complexity/industry.
  • Proven leadership, entrepreneurial skills, change management, governance and strategic planning expertise are required.
  • Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) is essential.
  • The ideal candidate will be below 50 years of age.
The successful candidate will be engaged on a renewable three (3) year contract subject to acceptable performance.
