The NGOs Co-ordination Board is a State Corporation established under the Non-Governmental Organizations Co-ordination Act No. 19 of 1990. 

Its mandate is to register, coordinate, facilitate and regulate national and international Non-Governmental Organizations operating in Kenya. 

The Board wishes to advertise for the following:-
 
Recruitment of Executive Director
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provision of strategic direction to the Board in the development and implementation of regulation framework for NGOs.
  • Develop strategies to ensure that the country remains a growing regional hub for the establishment of NGOs by being attractive to social investment. Increase engagement, participation and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Ensure efficient development and implementation of annual work plans that promote the pursuit of social development goals of Vision 2030.
  • Ensure the development strategies to counter the risks of money laundering and terrorism financing in the non-profit organizations sector.
  • Ensure prudent management of financial resources and human capital aimed at achieving performance contract targets. This includes development of a culture of continuous learning and performance improvement.
  • To develop a monitoring and evaluation framework for evaluating the performance of the activities of the NGOs.
  • Promote innovative and creative regulatory concepts and mechanisms based on knowledge of the sector.
  • To oversee the compliance of NGOs to the Government regulations and policies.
Requirements:
  • At least a Masters degree in Social Sciences or Business Administration or a related field from a recognized university.
  • At least 15 years work experience with non-profit organisations at senior management level or with a relevant regulatory body.
  • Documented evidence of achievements of applicant’s career.
  • A proactive self-starter with strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and inspire teamwork.
  • Active membership of a relevant professional body with confirmed good standing record.
  • Tax and integrity compliance from Kenya Revenue Authority and Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission respectively in accordance with the Constitution of Kenya
Terms of Service: Three years renewable contract
