Vacancy: Cardiac Programme Coordinator
 
The Mater Hospital in partnership with donor members of The Mater Heart Fund is seeking to fill the above position. 

Reporting to The Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
 
Main Roles:

  • Vetting patients and families to ensure suitability of beneficiaries to the programme. Decision must be made in line with the Ethos of the Sister of Mercy and guided by policies and procedures of the hospital, donors and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee the profiling of selected patients, screening and counseling of both patients and family members before surgery.
  • Plan and co-ordinate cardiac missions in consultation with local/overseas surgeons and support teams.
  • Organize and present reports at forums of The Mater Heart Trust Fund and donor/stakeholders meetings.
  • Plan, organize and coordinate cardiac procedures, Rheumatic Heart Disease awareness and screening medical camps and The Mater Heart Run activities.
  • Prepare proposals, budgets and accounts of the Trust Fund and compile reports as will be required from time to time.
  • Maintain cordial relationship with existing partners and source/approach potential donors to grow the fund consistently.
  • Ensure that operational guidelines, rules and regulations are clear and well understood by all concerned.
  • Co-ordinate itineraries to ensure safety and comfort for those attending missions.
  • Organize logistics for transfer of cardiac patients overseas for surgery.
  • Respond promptly to queries/inquiries regarding the program.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills
  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience in a senior management or administrative position.
  • A team player, ability to communicate and work effectively with senior professionals.
  • Strong planning, coordinating and decision making skills.
  • Should be innovative when dealing with unexpected situations and rational when faced with challenges.
  • Must have good listening and inter-personal skills, good proposal and report writing skills and a person of high integrity.
