Instep Business Solutions (IBS) is looking to recruit a Waitress for its client’s operations in Nanyuki, Kenya.

Position Overview: The role will take orders and serve food and beverages to patrons at tables in a dining establishment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linen, silverware and glassware;
• Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment and napkin containers;
• Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware and linen;
• Present menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request and inform patrons of daily specials;
• Take orders from patrons for food or beverages;
• Serve food or beverages to patrons and serve specialty dishes at tables as required;
• Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems;
• Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning;
• Clean tables or counters after patrons have finished dining;
• Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up server station, taking out trash, or checking and cleaning bathroom.

Requirements

• College Education
• At least 1 year working experience in the hotel industry
• Able to relate well with customers at all levels
• Excellent communication in English and Kiswahili

Remuneration: An attractive salary package is on offer dependent on skills, qualifications and experience.
