Vacancy: Digital Financial Services (DFS) Executives

MicroSave is an international consulting firm specialising in financial inclusion with ten offices in eight countries around the world. 

Our clients include leading mobile money service providers and financial institutions. 

MicroSave intends to recruit specialists in digital financial services to join its consulting team in Kenya.
 
Job Description: The executives will provide advisory services, technical support and training, to our clients in digital financial services.

Key responsibilities will includes:
 

Technical Support Services
  • Conducting market research to understand needs and preferences of financial service consumers in order to develop appropriate digital financial solutions.
  • Conceptualising digital financial products and services and related operational processes required for successful rollout.
  • Conducting institutional assessments and business planning related to implementation of digital financial solutions.
  • Training on building and managing large agent networks at the Helix Institute of Digital Finance or in-house trainings within institutions.
  • Advice and business support in rolling out agent networks.
Business Development, Client Relationship Management, and Knowledge Dissemination
  • Business development including identification, communication and negotiation of business opportunities and proposal writing.
  • Client relationship management for both existing and potential clients.
  • Report writing, publications and active participation in social media dialogues on digital financial services.
Required Experience and Competencies:
 
Experience:
  • At least five (5) years’ work experience in three or more of the technical support services highlighted above either within a bank / agency banking or mobile money service provider. 
  • Clearly show how you meet the experience required in your application letter.
  • Experience in business development, client relationship management and knowledge dissemination as highlighted above
Qualities
  • A high quality of written and spoken English
  • Strong field orientation and proven inter personal skills
  • A high degree of self-drive, enthusiasm, flexibility and willingness to learn
  • Diligence and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • A strong professional demeanour
Knowledge and Skills
  • Extensive knowledge of digital finance and distribution of mass market financial services
  • Supervisory / managerial skills
  • High analytical capability and report writing skills
  • Additional working language besides English and Swahili is an advantage.
  • Highly developed computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Education
  • A minimum of a Masters level degree (or higher) in Information Technology, Banking, Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, Economics, Sociology or related field.
  • Other relevant professional qualifications will be an added advantage.
Location: Based in Nairobi but with up to 40% travel within Africa.
 
Salary: Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience and expertise. State current and salary expectations in your application letter.
