Request for Applications: Commission Agent to Collect Blank Media Levy
The Kenya Association of Music Producers (KAMP) and Performers Rights Society of Kenya (PRISK) are mandated by the Copyright Act, Cap 130, Laws of Kenya to collect blank media levy for sound recordings and audio-visual works respectively including CDs, DVDs, MP3/4 players, flash disks, mobile phones, etc.
KAMP and PRISK are seeking to engage a highly motivated, professional and qualified commission agent to handle the collection of the PCR revenue from importers or manufacturers of blank recordable media and recording equipment at the points of first sale or points of entry into Kenya.
- Establish revenue collection systems and reporting mechanisms
- Collect Private Copying Remuneration revenue on recordable blank media and recording equipment at the points of first sale or points of entry into Kenya.
- Work with relevant Government Institutions in the revenue collection process
- Sensitize importers and manufacturers on the need to comply by disclosing their import consignments of blank recordable media and recording equipment.
Qualifications
- Sound financial base;
- Valid business licenses and tax compliant;
- Demonstrate capacity and ability to effectively collect the revenue nationally;
- Demonstrate an established marketing channels nationally;
Terms: The Commissioned Agent shall be remunerated at a percentage of actual revenue collected.
Applications should include:
- A business proposal setting out specific strategies on how to undertake the collection exercise
- Detailed Company profile and Audited financial statements for the last two (2) years;
- Expected commission.
