Our client, Pentair delivers industry – leading products, services and solutions for its customers’ diverse needs in water and other fluids, thermal management and equipment protection. 

To better support growing customer needs in Africa in food and beverage, energy, industrial and residential industries, Pentair is seeking to recruit a highly ambitious candidate to fill this position, based in the Nairobi office:

Business Development Manager – East Africa
 
Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager – Africa, the Business Development Manager – East  Africa will be responsible for analyzing and developing sales in the East African markets for Pentair products and services in line with Pentair Africa’s Key Performance Indicators. 

The target markets are mining, oil & gas, power generation, water, chemical and petrochemical, pulp & paper and general industries. 

Principal Accountabilities
  • Conducting market analysis  for Pentair Ltd products and services in the East African market and in particular Burundi, Central African Republic, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somali, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda
  • Achieving the set sales targets for Pentair Valves and Controls
  • Managing the East African sales channels and where distributors are utilized, develop templates and reports which will be used in monitoring performance and corrective measures where necessary
  • Developing strong business relationships with the key market players in the East African region
  • Developing trend – setting strategies which will lead to business growth in the East African region
  • Enforcing the use of Sales Force Optimization program
  • Liaising with the other Regional Sales and Project Managers in the follow up of global projects
Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
  • Degree/Diploma in Sales and Marketing or any relevant field
  • A minimum of 7 years experience in sales and marketing. Experience in related industry will be an added advantage
  • Good understanding of the East African countries
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi – task, work under pressure and communicate effectively
