We are looking for a Brand Manager to propel our Daily Nation newspaper brand to new heights. If you are passionate about marketing and have a strong track record in building brands, then you’re the person we’re looking for to work on Kenya’s favourite newspaper brand - The Daily Nation.
 
Job Summary: The role of Brand Manager requires someone with strong brand management, product development and exemplary execution skills. The Brand Manager works in close liaison with the Editorial, Circulation and Advertising team leaders to achieve ratings and revenue growth plans for Daily Nation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participating in developing brand strategies and brand plans for Daily Nation to protect and grow market share and achieve business objectives;
  • Implementing and executing brand plans including development of communication campaigns and planning and executing promotions and events within agreed budgets;
  • Liaising with other departments such as editorial, advertising / sales and circulation to identify marketing needs and opportunities;
  • Flawlessly executing the annual brand plans and ensuring judicious utilization of marketing budgets.
  • Developing and maintaining monthly market and competitor intelligence reports to inform strategic planning.
  • Monitoring competition while developing brand game plans to enhance brand equity and counter the competition; and
  • Advertising and promoting the brand.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven brand management skills with least 3 years’ experience at a similar level, preferably in an FMCG.
  • Exemplary execution skills with proven experience in multiple project management and execution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with diverse, cross functional teams.
  • Demonstrate a high level of independent judgment.
  • Tenacity and resolve to work in a fast paced job.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • University degree in Business, Marketing or other related field.
