Homa Hills Community Development Organization is an integrated Organization located in North Rachuonyo Sub-county, Homa Bay County.

We work with Various partners to empower communities we serve in terms of their civic responsibilities, economic independence, food security, environmental conservation, public health and HIV/AIDS prevention care and support for a just and equitable society.

Our overriding role is to build community capacity to facilitate sustainable development to support vulnerable groups.

We seek to fill the following vacancies and invite qualified, dedicated and self-motivated applicants.

Position: PSP / Livelihood Officer

Location: 
Must be willing and flexible to work in Rachuonyo North and Rangwe sub-counties of Homa Bay County.

 Key Requirements:
  • At least diploma in social sciences preferably, community development, rural development, social work, agribusiness and other related development fields
  • Experience in community work mainly in Savings and Internal Lending Community (SILC) and resource mobilization strategies
  • Good Communication and Mobilization Skills with 2 to 3 years’ experience
  • Highly developed work organization skills, including prioritization and working to deadlines.
  • Effective organizational & Computer skills
  • Ability to ride a motor bike is a MUST (with a Valid Driving License)
  • Must have demonstrated leadership experience
  • Must be a good team player
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the implementation of Microfinance aspects (Savings and Internal Lending Communities SILC) in the project area and provide timely and detailed positive feedback to improve implementation.
  • Train SILC groups in Business Development skills to enable them utilize loan funds effectively
  • Monitor the quality of the SILC activities through regular field visits.
  • Participate with project team in development of promotion and marketing materials.
  • Mentor and build the capacity of SILC PSPs and the community SILC groups and link mature groups to the existing Microfinance institutions.
  • Coordinate agricultural activities within the project through partnership with the county agriculture department
