Wrigley is seeking to recruit a Head of Human Resources – East Africa to lead the overall HR function for the region and drive HR excellence with the aim of driving associate engagement and business performance. 

The position is regionally recruited and will be based in Nairobi, Kenya and report to the General Manager, East Africa.

As a member of the East Africa Management Team, specific responsibilities will include:
  • Developing, implementing and measuring the HR strategy for East Africa in line with the company strategy;
  • Proactively partnering with the GM and Management team to deliver the East Africa business strategy while driving and supporting a high performing team culture;
  • Leading all elements of the talent management strategy in line with the regional strategy;
  • Leading organisational development and effectiveness in line with the regional strategy;
  • Leading change initiatives to support enhanced organizational effectiveness within the business;
  • Leading and managing the activities of the HR team for maximum performance and business effectiveness;
  • Developing the HR Function, processes and systems; and
  • Effective management of Industrial and Employee Relations.
Key qualifications, knowledge and experience required:
  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Strategic Management or Human Resources Management;
  • A higher Diploma in Human Resource Management or International Relations will be an added advantage;
  • A member of a relevant HR professional body;
  • At least 6 years’ experience in a senior HR management role displaying strong functional capability and high learning agility gained within a multinational environment;
  • Experience within a business that includes a production facility would be an advantage;
  • Understanding and working knowledge of Labour laws and Labour Union activities with experience leading CBA negotiations; and
  • Solid business acumen with good communication and interpersonal skills.
