C) Experienced Engineers
 
Education, Licensure, and Experience:
  • University graduates with a B.Sc. / B.Engr. or Diploma in:
  1. Mechanical Engineering
  2. Chemical Engineering
  3. Petroleum Engineering
  4. Electrical / Electronics Engineering
  • Being a Certified Chartered Professional Engineer is an added advantage.
  • The candidate should have over 2 years of experience in an Oil and Gas services company.
Skills
  • Must have excellent oral, written and communication skills

  • Ability to use advanced techniques and extension of theories, precepts of the field and related discipline.
  • Licensure to drive commercial equipment is required.
  • Familiarity with solids control equipment such as dryers, centrifuges and positive displacement pumps is an added advantage.

  • Should have exceptional skills within the service line and a general understanding of other service functions.
C) Experienced Warehousemen / Materials Controllers

Education Background:
  • Logistics / business Admin. / economics or international trade Studies

Skills:
  • Supervision skills (Organizing, leading, and controlling)
  • High communication skills to Logistics team and non-technical people with persuasion capability.

  • Time Mgmt. & Reporting skills
Experience:
  • Not less than 5 Yrs Experience in Logistics (Preferred Oil & Gas & in East Africa), import / export from and to East Africa different ports, dealing with Freight Forwarding Cos. and customs brokers, good communication and experience with east Africa customs authorities.
  • High level of Logistics understanding – MOT, Types of containers, customs procedure in East Africa, Documents & certificates required for East Africa clearance, Oil & Gas exoneration procedure, Customs clearance regimes in East Africa, know the liners Cos. working for goods transportation.
  • Preferred to have experience on moving HAZMAT and being IATA / DGR certified is an added value.
  • Understand the different kinds of Incoterms and the difference between each.
  • Preferred to understand the definition of cycle time & Logistics service KPIs.
  • Experience managing / supervising a team from different nationalities in remote locations.
C) Logistics Personnel.

Education, Licensure, and Experience:
  • Completion of a higher level education in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or similar disciplines
  • Experience in working in warehousing environment, preferably in oil & gas industry
  • Knowledge of SAP materials and warehousing is a preferred, but not a necessity
Specific Knowledge & Skills Requirements:
  • Requires an understanding of the relevant PSL’s and their products and can understand the Sales Orders process as applicable to materials
  • Affinity with technical working environment
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about materials and warehousing processes and systems

FilmAid uses films that are both educational and entertaining to draw audiences’ attention to subjects of vital concern to their health and well-being. 

FilmAid International has operational presence in Dadaab and Kakuma refugee camp and is one of UNHCR’s Implementing partners. 

Currently FilmAid is implementing a variety of projects with funding support from UNHCR and the US government through Bureau of Population and Migration (BPRM). 

These projects generally correspond to FilmAid’s core response areas of Health, Protection and Community services and involve production and dissemination of various videos.

Job Purpose

To support the Administration manager in the managing human resource for FilmAid Kenya programs 

Key Duties

The HR Officer reports to the Administration Manager and fulfils the following functions; 
  • Monitor the implementation of staff benefits schemes including medical insurance, staff development programmes, leave and vacations and any other benefits that may be determined by the organization 
  • Assist supervisors in the day to day interpretation and implementation of the personnel manual 
  • Maintain the leave schedule for all staff and ensure timely requests and receipt of leave forms and updated leave schedule from field offices 
  • Manage the recruitment process upon authorization by the Administration Manager, including posting adverts, receiving and shortlisting applications, organizing interviews and providing necessary assistance and support to the interview panels 
  • Draft letters of offers and job descriptions / terms of reference for prospective staff and consultants and ensure timely approval by the Administration Manager and other relevant staff 
  • Assist supervisors in developing orientation schedule for new staff and monitor the implementation of this schedule including the carrying out the necessary probation appraisals 
  • Assist in managing the process of staff appraisals by ensuring relevant tools are shared on time and that the appraisals conducted at the right time, collate data collected and assist the Administration Manager in the an analysis of the data collected during appraisals 
  • Assist the Administration Manager in drafting a recommendations report on issues arising from performance appraisals. 
  • Implement staff development programmes including making recommendations and authorization of staff eligible for such programmes, ensuring reports and records of these are well kept and submitted to the Administration Manager. 
  • Preparing all staff IDs and providing all basic information to new staff 
  • Process work permits and other relevant work documents for international staff / consultants / visitors 
  • Maintain staff files and records (including the maintenance of up to date emergency contact list of all staff) 
  • Conduct continuous research on improved staff benefits and make recommendations to senior management 
  • Assist the Administration Manager in managing disciplinary action procedures against staff accused of misconduct
Knowledge/Skills/Experience 
  • Degree in Human Resources with 2 years’ experience in HR Function preferably in a humanitarian organization or Higher Diploma on Human Resources management 
  • Counselling skills 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills 
  • Commitment to humanitarian principles and action 
  • Must be able to multitask and enjoy maintaining good relationship with employees 
  • A track record of a committed demeanour to constantly making improvements to all HR services is desirable

Norwegian Refugee Council

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) has been present in Somalia since early 2004 and has since expanded its programme to Kenya in 2006, to Ethiopia in 2011 and Yemen in 2012. 

The Regional Office is based in Nairobi, Kenya with offices and operations in Somalia (Puntland, Somaliland and Mogadishu), Kenya (Dadaab and Molo) , Ethiopia (Addis Abeba and Dolo Ado) and in Sana, Yemen. 

NRCs' core activities in the Somalia-Kenya mission include: Shelter, Emergency Food Security and distribution, Education, Protection and Camp Management training.

Dadaab refugee camp is home to approximatley 463 000 refugees with 98% orignating from Somalia. 

As a consequence of the conflict, drought and famine in Surth Central Somalia, more than 150 000 new refugees arrived in Dadaab in 2011. children constitute 57% of this population while 19,1% are youth. 

Over half of the children, do not access primary school and 92,6% do not access secondary school. 

NRC is running education centres for refugees and local youth, providing them with basic academic skills and vocational training through the Youth Education Pack (YEP). 

Around 600 students graduate annually and are provided with a start-up kit to run their own business. 

NRC provoides training to YEP teachers in teaching methodology, life skills and other cross-cutting topics, and also build schools, classrooms and temporary structures. 

NRC intends to expand on these activities throughout 2012.

Job description 

In close collaboration with the NRC Horn of Africa, expand, develop, coordinate and manage NRC’s education project in Dadaab
  • Represent NRC at education sectoral meetings at local level in Dadaab, and in relevant education working groups -Recruit education staff as required
  • Manage the NRC education staff and provide on the job training
  • Develop budgets for proposals in conjunction with the Finance Manager
  • Manage and monitor programme finance and budgets
  • Organise all logistics for the projects
  • Actively promote the rights of IDPs/returnees
  • Report monthly on all NRC education activities in Dadaab, and as required by donors, excluding financial reporting
  • Any other task relevant to the position as requested by the Area Manager
Qualifications 
  • Higher degree in education or related fields of study -
  • Solid field experience, preferably from refugee/IDP education programmes in complex emergencies
  • Experience in capacity building and training of teachers Experience in staff management
  • Experience of management of projects to deadlines
  • Experience in logistics/administration management
  • Experience of coordination and advocacy work
  • Significant understanding of complex emergencies and crisis contexts
  • Proven communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Fluency in the English language
  • Political and cultural awareness and experience of working where insecurity is a major issue 
  • Computer skills Proven skills in report/proposal writing
  • Holder of a valid international driver’s licence
