A leading Can Manufacturing Company based in Nairobi has the following vacancies.

Plant Manager

The Plant Manager shall be responsible for all Manufacturing, Purchases, Distribution, Engineering, Planning, Maintenance and overall Operations of the Plant.

Main Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Planning, organizing and directing manufacturing processes as well as maintenance operations to ensure the most effective and efficient returns on assets.
  • Initiating and using the right management skills that involves proper planning and processes that minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of human capital, equipments, facilities, materials and capital.
  • Assure attainment of business objectives and production schedules while ensuring product standards that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans that ensure the facility supports the company’s strategic initiatives.
  • Establish Group and Individual job accountabilities throughout assigned departments for ease of problem solving and cost reductions both on permanent and ad hoc basis depending on need.
  • Encourage use of new Techniques and focus on fact based problem solving.
  • Schedule stability that allows for maximum returns on efficiencies.
  • Ensure prudent fiscal budgeting and utilization with focus to changes in production volumes.
  • Ensure all legal, statutory and Government requirements including Collective Bargaining Agreement are effectively administered and adhered to.
  • Ensure employees grievances are addressed in a timely and right manner.
  • Employ pro-active management practices that include employee’s positive involvement with opportunity for constructive input and action.
  • Continually improve and oversee the overall safety of the physical aspects of the plant as well as that of the employees.
  • Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas.
  • Maintain and upgrade individual skills by keeping up to date with the latest production management concepts.
Qualifications:
  • Degree, Business or Technical field.
  • Hands on experience in Cans manufacturing.
  • 10 years experience in hard good manufacturing of which 6 and above years in a high production environment and 5 years of managerial experience.
  • Must be energetic with strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities as well as excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Accountant (ACCA)

Main Responsibilities, duties and expectation from the Candidate:
  • Manage various financial and accounting transactions for the company
  • Ensure all accounting transactions for the company are posted into the accounting system.
  • Prepare cash flow statements.
  • Prepare monthly accounts and submit the same to Company management on time.
  • Prepare monthly company profit statement based on submitted accounts.
  • Market company products and liaise with customers.
  • Ensure company compliance with all accounting regulations, Legal laws and statutory requirement as spelt out by various Government Acts.
  • Manage up-to-date weekly reconciliation system for all bank accounts.
  • Demonstrate ability to do manufacturing costs.
Qualifications & Competencies for the job:
  • Be a holder of Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA).
  • Preferably a University Graduate with a bias on Accounts/Finance and Marketing.
  • Must be result –oriented, go-getter with a clear record of achievements in accounting and financial management.
  • Must be a good planner with excellent organizing skills.
  • Ability to be flexible, meet deadlines and have the drive to achieve desired goals and objectives.
  • Must have a minimum of three years experience in the same field.
  • Possess valuable experience in use of various accounting systems.
Quality Control
(2 Posts: Metal Printing and Can Making)

Requirements
  • Minimum Diploma in Industrial chemistry, chemical engineering, analytical chemistry, chemistry or equivalent from a recognized institution/Polytechnic.
  • Minimum 2 years working experience in a busy manufacturing environment in Quality assurance.
  • Experience in metal printing, cans and/or Tins quality control is an added advantage.
  • Should have excellent organization & communication skills
  • Proficiency in English is a must.
  • Computer proficiency is a must.
  • Good and Strong problem solving & analytical skills.
  • Eye for detail to meet the very exacting standards of our customers.
  • Candidates with experience in implementing ISO standards, 5S, Kaizen, and GMP, will have an added advantage.
