The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) is an internationally recognized leader in the fight against pediatric HIV/AIDS, working to eradicate pediatric HIV infection through research, advocacy, and the delivery of comprehensive HIV services to women, children, and their families in 17 countries globally.

Since 2000, the Foundation in Kenya has expanded from a small HIV and AIDS initiative to a large prevention, care, and treatment program covering several regions in Kenya.

EGPAF in Kenya is currently looking to recruit a Deputy Country Director.

The Role

The role is a senior management post reporting to the Country Director.

Working in a complimentary fashion with the Country Director, you will effectively lead and manage the Kenya Country Program across all functions and areas.

You will impart a unified strategic vision that ensures timely achievement of program goals and objectives.

You will establish an effective monitoring and evaluation, system that ensures program quality and efficiency.

You will interact productively and proactively with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders including Government agencies, private sector groups, NGOS, CDC, USAID, UNICEF and other donor organizations.

As the Deputy Country Director you will lead the development and coordination of all project work plans and budgets, and contribute to the development of new business proposals. The

  • To be successful in this role you will have substantial exposure on strategic leadership and proven senior management experience in the HIV AIDs field.
  • You will be experienced in strategic planning, coupled with Program design, planning, and implementation. In addition you will have knowledge and experience of proposal writing.
  • You will demonstrate ability to lead and motivate teams and an understanding of how to drive and support excellent team performance and individual development.
  • You will have experience of sensitively managing organizational change.
  • Strong financial management skills in addition to knowledge of USG funding rules and regulations, financial reporting and disclosure requirements are key to this role.
  • You will have strong written and communication skills
