Summary

Our client is an international telecoms company is seeking to recruit a focused, dynamic, self-driven professional of high integrity to fill the position of a Transmission SSM with Optical Experience.

Transmission SSM – Manages the sales and customer relationship within broad sales area through an assigned sales team.

Main Responsibility Area
  • Manages a medium size sales team and may act as a contact for customers.
  • Contributes in the creation of and drives the implementation of sales strategy.
  • Is responsible for meeting defined sales targets.
  • Understands customers key business drivers and supports the team in using this knowledge for creating profitable business.
  • Acts as a source of expertise and coaches others in own product/sales area.
Position Description

The IPT Solution Manager is the customer interface within the customer team (CT) for transmission solutions and products.

He/She is responsible for proactively promoting transmission solutions to key customers in line with the CT’s efforts, for identifying customer needs and opportunities, and should be a source of expertise for all radio Business Unit (BU) products, actively creating business opportunities.

His purpose is to increase sales and pro-actively promote IP & Transport business solutions including technology, products, services to a dedicated customer or customer pool, identifying opportunities and suggest business solutions after identifying and qualifying customer requirements.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Identifying & qualifying the customers' business needs and related NSN IP&T opportunities in co-operation with CT for the entire IP&T portfolio
  • Matching customer needs with NSN IPT products and translate technical solutions to sales argumentation with clear customer value and benefits
  • Sales support, bid management for IP&T bids (as defined in NSN sales process) for opportunities within the CT, including solution selling with proactive value based argumentation and responding to technical parts of tenders, customer presentations, technical customer negotiations, and preparation of solution pricing
  • Proactively participating in CT sales & marketing activities and building strong customer relationships with senior levels of customer technical and marketing organisations as agreed with Account Management of the CT
Key Tasks of Solution Manager
  • Identify & qualify NSN opportunities in co-operation with CT, in alignment with NSN and customer technology strategies.
  • Match customer needs with NSN products/systems/services and translate technical solutions to clear customer value and benefits.
  • Sales support and sales case ownership for opportunities within the CT, including solution selling with proactive value argumentation
  • Build strong customer relationships with customer organizations in line with Acct Manager.
  • Define and document technical customer solution, respond to technical parts of tenders and prepare solution pricing.
  • Arrange technical customer workshops and participate in negotiations.
  • Can assume the role of Bid Manager in case nominated by the Head of Solution Sales BU/SBU, typically in smaller sales cases
  • Configuration of network elements for tendering, contracting and implementation
Skills and Requirements
  • Technical studies at University level (min B.Sc.) with 4-6 years of working experience in the telecommunication industry and transmission technologies.
  • At least 3 years experience with an operator or equipment supplier
Knowledge of the following:
  • Next Generation Metro Products
  1. DWDM Products
  2. Microwave Products
  3. IP Connectivity Products
  4. Expert level on Microwave
  • Solid understanding of all IPT Business Lines
  • Sales attitude mandatory, sales experience a major plus
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and sales skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills, including the ability to quickly and accurately assess/identify a problem and its relative priority
  • Ability to lead and direct a bid team.
  • Ability to adhere to established timelines and/or customer requested timing in response to customer inquiries.
