A fast growing player in the Construction and Engineering sector is exploring opportunities in the Real Estate and Telecommunication sectors.

They seek to fill the position of Head of Operations.

Overall Purpose of Role

Reporting to the Group CEO, the incumbent’s role will be to ensure organizational effectiveness by managing the day to day operations of the group.

The person will also oversee the implementation of the strategic and business planning activities of the group and monitor the group’s performance against the strategic plan.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight in the day to day running of the group
  • Oversee the implementation of administrative policies and procedures
  • Oversees review of agreements and contracts
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the strategy implementation
  • Implement and monitor the Balanced Score Card
  • Coordinating the preparation and review of corporate development plans and action plans regularly across the group.
  • Monitor group’s performance against the plans, clearly identifying performance gaps and management team members to put in place plans to address gaps.
  • Spearhead the group’s regional expansion and new markets, strategic marketing partnership and pursue business interests and alliances in vibrant business regions
  • Ensuring that projects undertaken by the group are financially, economically and socially viable and are successfully implemented.
  • Produce timely, detailed management reports as needed for monitoring and management of all business systems and functions.
  • Ensure organizational quality through review, update, implementation and adherence to agreed policies, procedures and manuals
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
  • A Degree in Commerce, Business Administration or other relevant specialization.
  • A Master's degree preferred, in relevant field (e.g. economics, business administration, strategic management).
  • Not less than 33 years of age.
  • At least 12 years postgraduate experience in a commercial environment providing operational leadership.
  • Knowledge and experience in performance management systems e.g. Balanced Score Card will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in Strategy formulation and implementation is critical
  • A deep and broad understanding of business operations
  • Strong networking and negotiation skills
  • Critical thinker with good analytical skills.
  • Experience in building and managing large teams, from senior level managers to low cadre personnel.
  • Bold and decisive, with good interpersonal skills, a team player
