Business Analyst

Our Client, a vibrant Group in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) business is Africa’s pioneering provider of Triple Play (broadband, multi-channel television and voice telephony), direct-to-home (DTH) satellite Pay TV, and VSAT (broadband data and internet) services. 

They are in the process of rolling out Africa’s most innovative network to help drive out growth and are now seeking to recruit an ambitious, dynamic and innovative individual for this exciting position.

Based in Nairobi, in one of the business units, the Business Analyst will report to the Managing Director, DTH and the Group Finance Manager (GFM), the successful candidate will provide a key link between the operational unit and the finance department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and monitoring of budgets and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) information;
  • Preparation of management accounts and reconciliation to budgets;
  • Preparation of weekly and monthly dashboards;
  • Providing ad hoc analysis, forecasts and other relevant information to senior management requests
  • Liaising with external consultants.
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Timely delivery of reports
  • Building and sustaining strong relationships with senior management/board, external consultants and investors
  • Quality of models, forecasts & budgets including attention to detail
Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes:
  • Minimum of four (4) years relevant experience in preparing budgets, management accounting & KPI monitoring
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and ability to create financial models
  • An undergraduate degree in engineering is desirable. MBA degree and/or accounting qualification is also desirable
  • Prior experience with Pastel Accounting Software is desirable
  • Effective communication and report writing skills
  • Highly motivated with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • A strong commitment to excellence and high standards of integrity, professionalism, loyalty, honesty, respect, open-mindedness, open communication and business ethics is required
