HR Generalist

Department: HR And Administration
Reports To: HR/Admin Manager

Job Objective:

The HR Generalist will be responsible for overseeing the administration of all human resource areas for the company and its branch offices

Duties And Responsibilities:
HR Duties
  • Administers policies and procedures relating to all phases of human resources activity, assists in the ongoing development of the employee handbook, and responds timely to inquires from employees and management
  • Advises management in the appropriate resolution of employee relations issues and reviews corrective actions to ensure fair and consistent practices are being applied
  • Conducts all recruitment efforts including; placing advertisements, sourcing resumes, pre-screening applicants, interviewing candidates, administering testing, and managing the selection process
  • Recommends, develops, and facilitates all training programs including; new hire orientation, safety, competencies, and succession planning
  • Participates in the compensation programs, including creating/modifying job descriptions, establishes/adheres to  pay scales, monitoring the performance evaluation and merit program, Worker’s Compensation & unemployment
  • Responsible for all aspects of leave administration, including leave tracking and notifications, coordination with paid time off, disability programs, and/or health benefits, as well as return to work protocols
Skills And Competencies:
  • Broad knowledge of various employment laws, recruitment, compensation, benefits, employee relations and training and development
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, exercise independent judgment, maintain confidentiality,  work effectively to support various levels of management, and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office
  • Strong personal accountability
  • Attention to detail
  • Willingness to work extra hours when necessary
Education/Experience:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Human Resources, Business or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years experience gained through increasingly responsible HR positions
