Research Associate I
 
Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Job Summary:
 
The Research Associate I will work closely with project staff to support project-specific GCLP laboratory audit activities and deliverables, and other project-specific activities.
 
Minimum Requirement Standards:
 
MS/MA/MPH with 3-5 years relevant experience and professional level of knowledge and expertise in research methods and application, BS/BA in public health or related field with 5-7 years relevant experience. 

Familiarity with public health, HIV and/or clinical laboratories as related to clinical trials and laboratory analysis. 

Experience using relevant software and tools (SharePoint, Word, Excel, Power Point). 

Knowledge of and ability to use electronic data processing systems to gather, store, retrieve and analyze data. 

Must possess strong written, verbal, and organizational skills. 

Requires relevant English language skills and ability to manage fast-paced work flow with minimal supervision.
 
Research Associate II 

(2 Positions)
 
Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Job Summary:
 
The Research Associate II will schedule and conduct laboratory audits and assessments in compliance with international standards, specifically GCLP. Such audits to be conducted in Africa and South/Latin America and other locations as needed of general, TB, PBMC, HIV and other types of laboratories.
 
Minimum Requirement Standards:
 
MS/MA/MPH with 5-7 Years relevant experience, Degree in biological science or laboratory sciences within a clinical or diagnostic discipline or Higher National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology with 7-9 years relevant experience, at least five (5) years related work experience within a clinical or research laboratory including experience with laboratory audit, quality control and quality assurance systems and implementation. 

Proven ability and aptitude to conduct detailed laboratory audits and to perform quality assurance assessments against accepted national and international standards and GCLP requirements. 

Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills. 

Experience with conducting US government-contracted GCLP audits is desirable. 

Ability to travel within Africa and Latin/South America for up to 75% of the time.
