One of our clients is looking for qualified candidates to fill the following position based in Juba, South Sudan.

Construction Manager

Job Specifications
  • Work with consultants and contractors to manage and direct overall planning of construction activities to identify critical milestones and priorities.
  • Determine budgets estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.
  • Monitor the services of sub-contractors and major construction equipment required by the project to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity
  • Manage and review assignments to Construction Superintendents /Supervisors and various work areas of Construction operations, monitoring progress and recommending corrective action as necessary.
  • Manage the assignment of manpower, materials and equipment to maximize efficiency, maintain schedule as to meet budget goals
  • Keep alert to possible problem areas and take preventive action to ensure that critical milestones are met for each phase of the project
  • Provide leadership to confirm sound construction practices to attain required quality control at maximum efficiency and minimum cost
  • Prepare periodic reports summarizing progress of the construction activities for higher level management and clients
  • Serve as the primary contact with Client representatives and subcontractor and Government representatives for construction related activities. Maintain strong client and community relations
  • Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project
  • Oversee the establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plans, Quality assurance/Quality control Plan and other documents required from the Contractor
  • Manage routine contractor meetings and maintain subordinate workloads to maximize performance.
Minimum Personal Specifications
  • Degree in Engineering related field
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer – Roads and Utilities
  • At least 40 years of age
  • Min 10 years’ relevant work experience in road construction
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of industry and regulations
  • Knowledge of current technology and its effective use on the project
  • Construction of large civil /structural and or industrial projects is preferred
