Position Purpose: The Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will report to the COP and will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of the program monitoring and evaluation framework and information system to track delivery against targets, outcomes and impacts. 

He/she will lead analysis of data collected for assessment of progress and areas of improvement and overall data management. 

He/she will guide reporting processes amongst technical staff and consolidates program reports, and promote learning and knowledge sharing of best practices and lessons learned. 

He/she will support all the technical staff in M&E functions and will manage any M&E related staff in the program. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist partners to develop strong M&E systems that will allow accountability for programming to Pact and to the donor
  • Providing training and mentoring support to partners and staff to ensure the implementation of strong M&E systems
  • Assist with development of the Performance Management Plan for the project, including decision on and definition of key indicators, targets and systems for measurements
  • Assist the OVC Manager and COP to design the overall measurement system for the project to include outcome measures at the end of the project
  • Collect, aggregate, analyze and visual data for the project for reporting to Pact and to the donor.

  • At least five years demonstrated skills in project design, implementation and reporting, preferably for USG funded programs

Skydive Diani was set up to create, foster and facilitate the sport of Skydiving in Kenya. Skydive Diani Club runs the United States Parachute Association (USPA) operating system. The pilot plays a great part in this operation.

Qualifications:
  • In possession of a Kenyan CPL with an Instrument Rating (Either Multi or Single);
  • Minimum of 700 hours total flying time;
  • Minimum of 350 hours on the Cessna 206;
  • Minimum of 200 hours on the Cessna 208;
  • Minimum of 500 Para drops;
  • Minimum of 20 Hours of Aerial Work;
  • Experienced with Aircraft Operations and Logistics.

Vacancy: Payroll Specialist (Accounts Payable Background)

Our client is a well established top security solutions provider in Kenya. They seek to hire an experienced payroll specialist, to ensure accurate processing and recording of company’s payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensures the accuracy of payrolls by auditing departmental pay authorizations and verifying deductions from wages.
  • Manages the payment of wages and salaries via the accounting system and prepares periodic payroll reports.
  • Reviews payrolls for compliance with the company budget, personnel policies and wage and withholding laws including KRA regulations for reporting and withholding, Kenyan Labour Law requirements related to payroll practices and record keeping.
  • Maintains personnel and pay records for company employees to ensure accurate integration of such records with the payroll and benefit systems.
  • Administers and interprets all policies and procedures for enforcement of provisions of the NHIF and NSSF statutory bodies.
  • Prepares analyses for the management regarding current revenues and expenditures and estimated future requirements.
  • Maintains awareness of current rules and regulations pertinent to payroll, retirement and benefits and ensures the timeliness and accuracy of payroll, insurance premiums and claim payments.
  • Recommends changes in payroll policies and procedures.
  • Monitors changes in laws and regulations pertaining to payroll which require Company policy changes and notifies the Administrator
  • Maintains frequent contact with department heads, programming staff and State agencies.
  • Audits all expenditures.
  • Calculating and preparing checks for all utilities, taxes and other payments,
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms
  • Match invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks and distribute checks accordingly.
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Process, audit check requests and credit card bills.
  • Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and prepare analysis of accounts.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
  • Respond to all vendor inquiries.
  • Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
  • Track expenses and process expense reports and assist in month end closing.
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
  • Provide supporting documentation for audits.
  • General office duties including purchasing office supplies and assisting with other projects as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA certification will be an added advantage.
  • 3 - 5 years payroll experience for large number of staff.
  • Must be from an accounts payable background.
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
  • Working knowledge of Sage Evolution or Pastel Software.
  • Strong knowledge of government regulations.
  • Strong work ethic and team player.
  • High degree of professionalism.
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management.
  • Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
