International Medical Corps (IMC) is a global humanitarian nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life through health care interventions and related activities that build local capacity in hard to reach areas.

IMC is anticipating a scale up of programming to meet the needs of the increased refugee population in the Dadaab Camp Complex and is looking for qualified candidates to take up the following positions.

Anaesthetist

Description/ Scope of Work
  • Perform anesthesia techniques as needed in the Operating Room
  • Complete patient records/file as per procedure done
  • Ensure no stock out of medicines and supplies for anesthesia use through timely and reasonable requisitions
  • Responsible for ensuring proper maintenance of equipment and instruments used in anesthesia
  • Ensure the quality and safety of anesthesia activities
  • Ensure Safe and efficient storage and use of resources – drugs, equipment.
  • Monitoring, evaluation and reporting of medical activities in theatre and ER.
Job Qualifications
  • Registered Clinical Officer with Diploma in Anesthesia.
  • Must have Valid License to practice Anesthesia in Kenya.
  • Minimum 3 years clinical experience in Operative Anesthesia
  • Good moral character
  • Experience working with NGO in resource limited environment
General Service Officer

Description/ Scope of Work
  • Supervise and oversee works electricity, carpentry, water supply and sanitation systems within hospital and compound
  • Issue monthly report on consumption of generator, monitoring hours and service times.
  • Responsible for day to repair and maintained of electrical, water systems and general carpentry works in hospital and compound
  • Requisition and produce job cards for works needed to be done in the Hospital and compound and certify completed works
  • To manage tools under his responsibility through maintenance and reporting of status of tools
  • Responsible for lubricants , oils , and fluids for maintenance of generator and equipment
Job Qualifications
  • Diploma in Mechanics or any related field
  • 3-5yrs working experience as a General Maintenance (Electrical, masonary and Carpentry)
  • Excellent oral and written English skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, multitasking and organizational skills
  • Strong Computer skills on Ms- Word, Excel and access
  • Must be flexible
  • MUST be a Kenyan
Transport Officer

Description/ Scope of Work
  • Ability to coordinate ,organize and manage vehicle fleet for transport of personnel and goods on a daily basis
  • Work within organizational rules and regulation to manage transport by producing monthly reports
  • Ability to supervise Drivers , draw up roster, movement plans
  • Ability to manage fuel consumption and vehicle fuel consumption records
  • Constantly liaise with programmes, security and head office for coordination purposes
Qualifications
  • 'O’ Level Education or equivalent (A diploma or a degree is preferable)
  • Valid Driving License
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written English skills
  • Willingness to travel throughout the project area (Flexible)
  • Strong Computer skills on Ms- Word, Excel and access
  • 3yrs Work experience as a transport officer with an NGO
  • Mechanical knowledge is an added advantage
  • MUST be a Kenyan
Mechanic

Description/ Scope of Work
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the fleet, (to keep vehicle in good condition in collaboration with the drivers). He supervises all maintenance works and carries out services of the vehicles of the International medical corps Kambioos Field hospital Project in collaboration with the drivers.
  • To monitor and organize spare-part, fuel and lubricants stock, requirements, consumption and to Nairobi office and to report monthly to the Logistics Manager
  • Manage the workshop operations on a daily basis especially tool management
  • Over see maintenance of generators and other power engines, water pumps etc
  • Train drivers on basic maintenance and repairs while out in the field
  • Monitor vehicle and generator maintenance schedules
Job Qualifications
  • Diploma in Vehicle mechanics
  • 3-5yrs working experience as a hands-on
  • Good interpersonal , multi taking and organizational skills
  • Willingness and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people
  • Must be flexible
  • Must have a Valid driving License
  • MUST be a Kenyan
Warehouse Manager

Description/ Scope of Work
  • Oversee the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of goods.
  • Develop and submit inventory report, dead stock report, entry and exit status reports, consumption report, goods age report and manpower status reports routinely and on time.
  • Inventory management- plans the arrangement of goods within the warehouse and organizes special requirements for certain stock, such as chilled goods and fragile products.
  • Ensure the workplace health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building and stock.
  • Ensure that MSL(minimum Stock Level) is maintained and the medical director is informed if any stock nears MSL
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Closely work with transport officer for day to day movement of stocks to project sites.
Qualifications
  • Business related degree
  • Diploma in warehousing/ stores management, purchasing and supplies.
  • At least 3 yrs relevant working experience in middle level management preferably in warehouse operations at least in a supervisory category.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications ( those with a working knowledge of an ERP, preferably Navision will have an added advantage
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with a health NGO is preferred
  • Fluency in written and Oral English. Kiswahili
Finance / Admin Officer

Responsibilities:
  • Verify all payments (including per diem disbursements to international staff and check payments) and receipts including supporting documentation.
  • Ensure the maintenance of accurate records of financial transactions in Dadaab in order to monitor financial status of all project activities
  • Prepare Monthly and Weekly Cash requests and projections and submit them to Nairobi Finance Department in a timely manner
  • Review and account for procurement transactions to ensure adequate supporting documentation, accuracy of amounts and control over payments.
  • Assist logistics with the paperwork for the procurements.
  • Advise on all bank accounts and bank relations with the project bank account
  • Coordinate with HR Manager in order to ensure that all contracts, insurance documents, timesheets and other related documents are provided to the Finance department in a timely manner.
  • In coordination with the Finance manager prepare donor reports for review of Finance Director before review by HQ
  • Coordinate with National HR manager and the finance manager to ensure the HR issues in the project area are adequately addressed
  • Other relevant tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum necessary qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in the field of Finance/Accounting and CPA part II.
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar function preferably in an international NGO
  • Knowledge of donor regulations including but not limited to UNHCR, USAID,ECHO,WFP and UNICEF
Finance Assistant

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for making payments in the office. Make sure that backup documentation for disbursements is duly approved and on file prior to making payments
  • Assist Finance Officer in preparation of year end audit schedules for IMC Kenya
  • Prepare and send Daily Cash Reports to Nairobi that includes both cash and bank balances.
  • Prepare monthly reports including input into ACCPAC and sending monthly batches to Nairobi by the last day of the month.
  • Assist Finance Officer with finance information related to asset and inventory list
  • Other relevant tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum necessary qualifications:
  • Bachelor/College degree in the field of Finance/Accounting and/or CPA part 2
  • 1 one year experience in accounting/finance Experience in an international NGO would be an advantage
