Kenya National Trading Corporation is state owned Corporation whose mission is to efficiently trade in quality products and services to ensure balance of supply and demand in the country’s distribution networks while promoting and growing wholesale and retail trade.

The Corporation is seeking for qualified and competent individuals to fill the following vacant positions:

Depot Sales Manager

Job Ref: HR/001

The successful candidate shall effectively and efficiently manage the depot operations through responsive customer service, sales outreach and transaction accountability.

Key responsibilities and duties:
  • Manage the sales and depot operations to ensure achievement of set goals and objectives
  • Analyze stock performance and valuation while advising on stock reorder levels
  • Build networks and appropriate channels for new markets and clients for corporations profitability
  • Undertake market surveys and advise management on market trends
  • Compile, analyze and submit timely depot reports to the head office
  • Establish customer requirements and provide information for decision making
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Diploma in Sales and Marketing from a reputable institution
  • Computer proficiency in MS office applications
  • 3 years experience in a FMCG company with diverse products
  • Age 25 – 35 years
Accountant III (Revenue, Cost, Stock and Asset Accounting)

Job Ref: HR/002

The successful candidate shall ensure effective consolidation and computation of stock performance, revenue and expenditure by the Corporation.

Key responsibilities and duties:
  • Carry out accounts reconciliations in KNTC and timely filing of the same.
  • Ensure proper coding of invoices from accounts payables.
  • Maintain records on the operating selling prices in the system for all the products and correct cost and freight for the finished goods in the system in the Corporation
  • Ensure updates on the Corporation’s supply requisitions of goods, and advising the stock status by product
  • Give codes of goods to be used for ordering the goods in the system, and check the accuracy of quoted prices by the suppliers
  • Update product routings in liaison with the management accountant
  • Establish the most current surcharge ratios at any particular time, supported by accounting documents, for finished goods.
  • Bank reconciliation and revenue collection
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelors Degree in Finance / Commerce/ Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant ( CPA – II)
  • Computer proficiency in MS office applications
  • 3 years relevant experience in a busy commercial set up.
  • Age 25 – 35 years
Accounts Assistant (Cashier)

Job Ref: HR/003

The successful candidate shall handle payments for sales within the depot and offer accountability in reporting to the head office.

Key responsibilities and duties:
  • Make daily banking , maintain and give report daily to head office
  • Answer customers’ questions, and provide information on procedures or policies.
  • Compute and record totals of transactions.
  • Establish or identify prices of goods, services or admission, and tabulate bills.
  • Issue receipts, and change due to customers.
  • Receive payments in cash/cheques.
  • Calculate total payments received during a time period, and reconcile this with total sales.
  • Compile and maintain non-monetary reports and records
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Certified Public Accountant ( CPA – II)
  • Computer proficiency in MS office applications
  • At least two years experience as a cashier in a commercial set up.
  • Age 24 – 35 years
Store Keeper

Job Ref: HR/004

The successful candidate shall manage the Corporation stores to ensure proper accountability for the use and issuance of all stock.

Key responsibilities and duties:
  • Receive stock against delivery notes from the central depot and suppliers
  • Verify the details of the stock received from the central depot and suppliers
  • Issue stock against authorized purchase requisitions
  • Carry out inventory audit where necessary or periodically
  • Reconcile issuance against stock and reporting appropriately
  • Supervise the casuals when offloading and loading goods.
  • Ensure the stacking of stock is properly done
  • Ensure cleanliness and the security of the store
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Diploma in Stores Management, warehousing or equivalent from a recognized learning institution.
  • Computer proficiency in MS office applications
  • At least two years experience as a stores / stock management
  • Age 24 – 35 years
