ICAP of Columbia University is working in partnership with the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation and the Ministry of Medical Services to strengthen HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment services at provincial and district health facilities. 

 

This program is part of a US Government initiative against HIV in Kenya that receives funding from PEPFAR through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
 

As part of its mandate to improve the quality of health records within Kenya, ICAP is seeking newly qualified diploma/certificate holders in Information Technology or Health Records Information who wish to obtain practical experience in this field and enhance their skills in Data Management. 

 

Newly qualified diploma/certificate holders will be accepted for a fixed three (3) months practical attachment period. 

 

Please note that this is not a salaried position but successful attachees will receive a small stipend for upkeep. 

 

A recommendation letter will be provided to trainees who successfully finish the attachment.
 

We are therefore inviting applications for the following attachments:
 

Position: Data Clerks -Trainees
 

Location: In various ICAP supported GOK Health facilities in Nyanza
 

Overall Job Function:
 

Reporting to the Data Manager, the Data Clerks- Trainees will enter routine data electronically, assist data cleaning and reporting
 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collect data from sites and compile period reports
  • Support site staff to record and manage accurate data
  • Data transcription and computer data entry
  • Data quality checks and data editing
  • Manage and maintain the patient monitoring data and ensure data quality through routine medical record review
  • Attend on-site review sessions and attend M&E training workshops

Qualifications:
 

Health Records officers: Diploma / certificate in health records from recognized institutions
 

Form 4 leavers: KCSE minimum C plain and certificate in computer packages
 

IT graduates: Diploma in Information Technology including Ms Office
 

Prior experience in C-PAD data entry will be an added advantage
