Job Title: Systems Analyst – NAVISION HQ (Financials, Inventory & Purchasing)

Job Purpose Statement: To Provide in-depth technical support to NAVISION HQ (Financials, Inventory & Purchasing) Systems, NAVISION Main databases, HQ systems integrations, application systems and the supporting infrastructure in consultation with systems developers and vendors where necessary in order to ensure consistent and reliable IT Services.

To maintain Systems applications, Servers, Databases, Data directors, manage replication and implement initiatives and enhancements to improve efficiency, productivity and create value add to IT services.
Detailed Job Description  

  • Analyze the entire system (application, Database and Operating System) performance to ensure optimal operational levels.
  • Provide User Support and management where applicable for all internal applications within the NAVISION (Financials, Inventory & Purchasing).
  • Monitor NAVISION HQ Systems and applications to ensure systems availability.
  • Identify underlying system bottlenecks affecting performance and establish necessary changes to ensure higher availability of systems to the business.
  • Identify and Evaluate necessary system performance and tuning tools for pro-active resolution of system problems in consultation with Business apps manager
  • Analyze the entire functionality of the system and identify better utilization of its capabilities to achieve cost justifiable optimal utilization and value to business.
  • Developing, maintaining and monitoring procedures for all NAVISION Server pertaining to NAVISION and work with developers to make changes.
  • Evaluate and analyze reports from identified system weakness, explore new solutions to existing problems in liaison with subject matter experts and give recommendation.
  • Undertake tests in controlled environment before introduction of new solutions in the production environment and test areas of improvement.
  • Continuous monitoring of Tasks that involves administration of the HQ servers and Data Directors /NAS Services to ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify recurring requests for assistance and provide advice on how these can be prevented/minimized, through training/awareness, changes in configuration etc.
  • Follow-up to ensure that Data Director, NAVISION & SQL Server administrative and schedule tasks are done and take overall responsibility.
  • Ensure that systems performance tuning, database tuning, SQL Server Database Engine Tuning, Re-index tuning, and query tuning are done.
  • Evaluate business & system requirements against current hardware configurations for the new solutions and system upgrades.
Key Competencies 
 
Academics Qualification (Minimum)   
  • BSC  Degree in Computer Science or related field
Additional Qualifications (Technical)   
  • Must Possess Microsoft NAVISION 2009 Certification and MCSD/MCSE
  • Good knowledge in Microsoft NAVISION (Inventory, Report Design, Finance & Application setup)
  • Experience in SQL programing, Advanced Querying & Native databases platform.
  • Thorough understanding of existing system and Processes within SQL/LS/NAVISION Retail Environment.
  • Understanding of how an LS & SQL,NAVISION interfaces and depends on WAN, Data Director for Replication
Years of Experience (Minimum)   
  • Minimum 3- 5 years working experience in a busy IT environment with remote locations.
