Assistant Manager - Research, Statistics & Policy

Purpose of the job: At this level, the incumbent identifies areas of research and make recommendations to management and independently plan and conduct major and complex on-going research projects. 

They plan and design the research methods, establish procedures to assure the quality of data and approve the results of research projects. 

Planning and conducting research projects and coordinating the developments, implementation and evaluation of KRA research and analysis programme.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinates planning research and statistics function
  • Assist in scanning and analyzing operating environment affecting revenue performance.
  • Coordinate preparation of corporate plan/operational plans.
  • Carry out policy analysis affecting KRA operations.
  • Maintain a data bank of relevant revenue statistics.
  • Compile semi/annual statistical bulletin.
  • Liaise with Treasury, DBK and other’ stake holders for statistical enquiries.
  • Ensure accurate and timely production of trade reports.
  • Conduct relevant surveys.
  • Prepare relevant reports. .
  • Any other duties assigned by Manager.
Requirement for Appointment

Personnel Specifications
  • Masters degree in related field from a recognized university
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics or Business related field from a
  • recognized university
  • Management course
  • Computer Literacy in packages such as SPSS and E-Views
  • 2 years experience as a Supervisor.

  • Knowledge in Research and Corporate Planning Management concepts
  • Experience in applying advanced research and planning techniques in a corporate environment
  • Demonstrate leadership and managerial competences
  • Understand KRA’s core business
  • Be customer focused
  • Have personal management and communication skills
  • Must demonstrate high integrity standards
  • Must be conversant with the departmental mandate and business information system
  • Fair understating of various Revenue Acts.
