The Danish Refugee Council has been providing relief and development services in the Horn of Africa region since 1997.

The last two years have seen growth and expansion of the programme portfolio thus a need to increase the support services capacity required by the various programme offices in order to maintain quality and accountability.

The DRC Regional Office in Nairobi is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:

1. Procurement Officer

Working under guidance of Regional Logistics Manager, the Procurement Officer will be responsible for all procurements at Nairobi level, ensuring organization policies and procedures are implemented.

Ensure all procurement and documentation is carried out in compliance to donor and organizational policies.

Ensure that goods required are purchased in the most timely and cost-effective manner, with due regard to quality and that accountability and transparency are maintained at all times.

Requirements:
 
  • Must possess degree in Business Administration or Purchasing & Supplies, OR Diploma from Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS,UK) with at least three years relevant working experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of various donor regulations and requirements.
  • High integrity and track record of dealing with suppliers in just and ethical way.
  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills required.
2. Human Resources (HR) Officer

Working under the guidance of Regional HR & Administration Manager, the HR Officer will provide functional and operational support in the areas of recruitment, personnel administration, salary and benefits administration and ensuring HR policies and procedures are implemented.

They will assist in recruitment and selection processes ensuring compliance to recruitment procedures and best practices. Maintain personnel files and staff records, staff contracts, induction process, leave management, and assist in implementation of HR policies and initiatives.

Requirements:
  • Must possess degree in Human Resources or Business Administration with specialization in Human Resources.
  • At least 3 years relevant experience in a similar role, experience with international NGO is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Kenya labor laws and legislation.
  • High integrity and proven ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • High level of personal initiative and ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Good communication skills and ability to forge working relationships at all levels.
