A well-established commercial bank with a robust growth strategy, is looking for a dynamic and proactive Kenyan professional with strong credentials and relevant work experience to fill the position below to be stationed at its Head Office.

Chief Manager – Operations & ICT

Reporting to the Managing Director, the incumbent will be responsible to provide leadership to the operations and ICT team and oversee operations control and activities across the Treasury Back Office, Central Clearing and Branches within the Bank. 

The incumbent will also be responsible to coordinate the business and user support department. 

Main Duties:
  • Participate in the development, planning and execution of the Bank’s policies and procedures relating to operations and ICT
  • Ensure the clearing department is functional at all times
  • Ensure smooth running of the Treasury Back Office department and monitor Nostro, CBK and other bank accounts reconciliations
  • Ensure smooth running of all Branches
  • Supervise the ICT department.
  • Manage and mitigate operational risk
  • Facilitate obtaining and renewing service contracts for the Bank
  • Handle and coordinate procurement of assets and services for the Bank
  • Monitor agency arrangements, reconciliations and settlement of claims and commissions relating to all channels.
  • Facilitate obtaining and renewal of Bank and Branch Licenses from various regulatory authorities and Bank insurance policies
  • Discharge secretarial duties to the Executive Committee and Board Operations Committee meetings
  • Compile and submit requisite CBK reports
Minimum qualification and experience required:
  • Bachelors degree in Banking, Finance or Accounting. MBA will be preferred
  • A minimum of a Diploma in Computer Science will be an added advantage
  • 10 years’ experience in bank operations, 5 of which at a managerial level.
  • Working knowledge of core banking and clearing systems preferably T24 and Sybrin.
  • Knowledge of relevant products and services.
  • Knowledge and effective application of all relevant banking policies, processes, procedures, guidelines, including Automated Clearing House (ACH) rules and guidelines and  to consistently achieve required compliance standards or benchmarks.
  • Good interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with and manage customer expectations (internal and external), and other stakeholders who impact performance.
