St. Monica’s Hospital invites applications for the position of Medical Officer for the Patient Support Centre.

Job Summary: Under the supervision of Medical Director and Project Coordinator, Medical Officer will offer quality health care to patients and work closely with other staffs in relevant departments providing support and guidance

Responsibilities
  • The Medical Officer’s role is a combination of good leadership and clinical care
  • Providing clinical care to clients in the CCC in conjunction with other team members
  • Ensure provision of high quality care and service delivery at the center
  • Provides mentorship to the other staff in the clinic
  • Provides an integrated clinical care at the main stream hospital and take calls as may be directed by the Hospital Administrator/ Senior Medical Officer 
  • Review CCC clients admitted as inpatients for care during ward rounds
  • Responsible to Medical Director in collaboration with Patient Support Centre Coordinator
  • Any other duties assigned by the supervisor
  • Monitor, evaluate and analysis quality of services provided
Minimum qualifications & experience required
  • MBchB/MD from a recognized institution
  • Registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board ( KMPDB)
  • At least one year experience post –internship in a busy hospital
  • Basic and Advanced training in HIV/AIDS
  • Upholds to Catholic faith in medical practice
  • Be able to provide emergency obstetric surgical procedures such as caesarian section
  • Experience in providing integrated HIV/AIDS services to diverse patients in a large program-linked facility will be an added advantage
  • Adequate leadership qualities
  • Ability to mentor others through CMEs and CPD
