Vacancy: Business Development Manager

The Role: As a part of our growth strategy, we have a Business Development Manager role. 

The core function of the role will be to grow assets under management in the institutional market segment working with the key intermediaries. 

The successful candidate will also be expected to positively and passionately promote the business and its brands effectively and knowledgably.
 
In order to meet expectations of this role, the successful candidate should have the following:
  1. Extensive understanding and experience of the local pensions industry having worked in the Employee benefits consultancy in relationship management, business development or account management roles.
  2. Above average knowledge of investment markets,
  3. Demonstrable experience and understanding of building relationships with trustees
  4. Strong work ethic and ability to work independently,
  5. Experience in making effective client presentation and proposals.
Key Responsibilities
 
The role will be responsible for:
  • Execution of the growth of the institutional client portfolio.
  • Developing a credible new client pipeline.
  • Growing and managing relationships with intermediaries in the employee benefits industry in Kenya.
  • Identifying and tracking market intelligence on new business opportunities in the market segment.
  • Pitching for new business
  • Client relationship management.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Must possess a Bachelors Degree in social sciences or a business field.
  • Post graduate academic or professional qualifications in a business field or employee benefits consultancy will be a strong advantage.
  • Working experience of at least 7 years in the employee benefits consultancy industry working in a direct client facing role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to understand client’s needs and address them succinctly.
  • Excellent Ms power point presentation skills
  • Self driven and motivated and able to work under minimal supervision,
  • Strong aptitude, a commercial mind and intellectual ability to grasp concepts and information in financial markets.
  • Team player and able to fit in a professional financial services firm.
