The USAID funded FUNZOKenya project aims to improve access to and quality of healthcare in Kenya by strengthening health training systems. 

IntraHealth International is seeking to fill the following position:
 
Data Systems Manager
 
Reporting to the Assistant Director Technology Innovations, the Data Systems Manager will work with stakeholders including the Ministry of Health, Health Regulatory Bodies and Training Institutions to develop information and data systems on health workforce training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with the national and county governments to advocate for the FUNZOKenya data systems strategy as a means of attaining buy in.
  • Roll out iHRIS Train, an open source health workforce information system, in the national government, counties and training institutions across the country.
  • Develop system documentation, training plans and training material for iHRIS users.
  • Create a remote support and helpdesk system for iHRIS users.
  • Contribute to the development of iHRIS Train through translation of Kenya users’ requests to new software features, and participation in the iHRIS online forums.
  • Integrate the health workforce information system with other existing health management information systems, such as the regulatory bodies’ databases and Ministry of Health’s databases.
  • Work with partners to rollout the HRH Dashboards to counties
  • Offer technical expertise to the project team in data capture, management and reporting.
Education and Experience requirements
  • A Master’s degree in Computing, IT or any related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years database management/programming experience will be considered in lieu of the Masters degree.
  • At least 5 years software development experience with advanced skills in PHP, SQL databases and Linux administration.
  • Experience in user training and user support and project management skills
  • Self drive, passion for information systems design and development and ability to work with diverse types of data is desirable
