Our client, in the baby service industry is in need of Business Development Manager
 
Duty Station: Nairobi
 
Reporting to: Managing Director
 
Goal for Business Development Manager Role: To grow and develop the business in its entirety in order to satisfy the needs and aspirations of both the clients and shareholders of the Company.

Objectives: To effectively and profitably manage the business, generate new business and grow the Company and its products.
 
Key indicators of success
  1. Profitable operations.
  2. Staff satisfaction and retention.
  3. Client growth and retention.
  4. Revenue growth.
  5. Effective customer service.
  6. Efficient management and running of web portals.
Requirements of the Position
 

A clear understanding of:
  • Business management and supervision of staff.
  • The baby service industry value and supply chains.
  • The product and service needs of a baby’s growth and development, and information life cycle of parenting.
  • Shopping and product trends and the communication and entertainment approaches for family and baby.
  • High familiarity with, understanding, like for and proof of regular use of online and social communication and marketing tools, as well as payment systems.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all planning, assignment, delivery of all work and outputs.
  • Responsible for Creative, Editorial ad Marketing and Administrative components of the business.
  • Actual promotion, marketing and sale of all products.
Definition of Scope
 
The above responsibilities relate to all associated duties, targets and deliverables.
 
1. Team Leader, acting as the source of inspiration for creativity, discipline, team spirit and achievement, exercising duties including but not limited to those listed below:
 
2. Administrative: management of staff, including hiring and firing in consultation with and with the approval of the Directors; promote and enforce a high quality work ethic among all staff members; synchronize editorial, creative and marketing departments and staff to ensure timely delivery of all products.
 
3. Financial: In collaboration with the Director, to manage all finance and admin staff, including guiding them in cost conscious and revenue maximizing budgeting, spending, collection and accounting.
 
4. Business development: To grow the business scale of the Company by acquiring, retaining and satisfying all customers.
 
5. Editorial: To supervise the operations of all Editors responsible for all works and products, and to guide them in planning and achieving quality, relevance and strict timelines.
 
6. Marketing: To guide, direct and supervise all marketing staff, and to guide them in planning and achieving sales targets within set budgets and strict timelines.
 
7. Creative: To guide, direct and supervise all creative staff, and to guide them in planning and achieving the creation of products that meet maximum client approval and to do so within set budgets and strict timelines. Provide art direction and assistance to all Company clients, including assistance with concept and design of advertising material and other publishable works. Cause and supervise high quality photography on need basis.
 
8. Attending to all other business development and management matters of the Company.
